Energy Efficient |
Energy efficiency is perhaps the most important aspect of any
green development. Electrical production and use constitutes the
principal source of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions.
The following are energy efficient initiatives Shade House employs
that far exceed the Houston energy effiency code.
- A Shade House is designed to live much larger than its actual square
footage. With the use of multi-functional areas and superior design we are
able to have a positive impact on the one thing that most directly effects
a homes’ energy consumption, its size. The smaller footprint also leaves
more space for yards.
- A Shade House is equipped with Energy Star appliances which use dramatically
less energy and water then typical appliances. We install mechanical systems
that are highly efficient, such as tankless gas water heaters, 14 SEER air-conditioning
condensing units and gas furnaces with a 90 % effiency rating.
- A Shade House roof combines reflective metal roofing and Cool Tone
shingles. Both of these products reflect the suns heat away from the house.
